Bezel is now Bezi

It might come as a surprise, but a lot of the 3D design tools we use today actually date back to the 80s or 90s. This long history means they've had plenty of time to evolve, but it also means they were initially created with different goals and user expectations compared to what we have today.

In the last decade, the design world witnessed a revolution. Figma transformed how product design teams collaborate, and a slew of new tools emerged for graphic design, video editing, and web development, setting new industry standards. But what about 3D design?

If you ask a designer what they currently use for interactive 3D prototyping, they will likely answer one of the two: Figma, or a game engine. These are powerful in their own right, but neither is tailored for the unique needs of 3D design. You either ‘storyboard’ in 2D frames with a tool like Figma to get your rough idea across, or learn code and use a game engine like Unity built for developers. There is no in between.

As designers, we have expectations for modern design tools. They should:

  • Be low barrier to entry, high ceiling

  • Include the whole team, not just designers

  • Be fast, flexible, and fun to use

  • Allow you to be creative at the speed of thought

Introducing Bezi

Our new name, Bezi, is shorter and sounds more fresh, and the new logo is an evolution from our previous identity. It reflects our continued dedication to transforming 3D workflows—making it faster, more accessible, and powerful for our incredible community. Bezi empowers designers to prototype in 3D without the need to code, keeps teams in sync, and make iteration cycles 10x faster than previously possible.

This AR animation was created in Bezi. Check it out here: https://bezi.com/sigler
